172 Free Humans: the Wave continues, and becomes more alive
Since the last chronicle on July 4th, the Wave has continued to advance.
We are tonight 172 Free Humans. On July 4th, we were 148. That makes 24 more humans in three days.
The arrivals happened at the following pace: 13 on July 5th, 8 on July 6th, and then 3 today. Three milestones have been crossed: #150, #160, and then #170.
The map also goes from 11 to 13 territories. Two new flags have appeared, in a visibly playful manner: North Korea with « Kim John Un », and Antarctica with « Sage ». Even when the Wave sometimes takes amusing paths, it continues to tell something: humans pass by, leave a trace, test the tool, play with it, and participate in their own way.
Today, the ranking of countries is as follows:
Canada 46 · United Kingdom 37 · United States 29 · France 23 · New Zealand 12 · Australia 9 · Belgium 3 · North Korea 1 · United Arab Emirates 1 · Senegal 1 · Tanzania 1 · Niger 1 · Antarctica 1.
France has made good progress in recent days, going from 17 to 23 Free Humans. The top trio remains stable: Canada, United Kingdom, United States.
The new arrivals since July 4th
On July 5th, 13 new Free Humans joined the Wave. Among them:
- Merlin, #150, United States — the milestone of 150.
- Jamie Lamoureux, #156, Canada.
- Rex, #160, United Kingdom — the milestone of 160.
On July 6th, 8 people arrived. Among them:
- Cameron, #164, New Zealand.
- Lukas, #166, Canada.
- Catherine Soavi, #167, France.
And today, July 7th, three people:
- Christophe Mazières, #170, France — the milestone of 170.
- Coho David, #171, France.
- Christophe, #172, France.
The Wave is still moving slowly, but it is moving. And above all, it is becoming more readable.
The energy becomes a real signal
Since the opening, 529 energy gestures have been sent. That makes 48 gestures more since July 4th, including 21 in the last 24 hours, from 34 different people.
The energy podium has changed.
Excluding Free Human #1, Lionel, Free Human #2 is now in the lead with 60 energies. He had 42 on July 4th. Behind him: Alistair A, Free Human #40, in New Zealand, with 55 energies, then Samantha Read, Free Human #87, in the United Kingdom, with 43 energies.
Next come Rachel Smith, Free Human #42, in the United States, with 11 energies, Rogan, Free Human #21, in Canada, with 8, and then Adam, Free Human #12, in Canada, with 5.
I remind you that these podiums are not there to create a hard competition. They serve to make visible what everyone is doing. They show where the energy flows, who participates, who pushes the Wave a little, each in their own way.
And there is a beautiful story behind this improvement.
It was Lionel himself who suggested that the podiums should not stop at the top three. His idea was simple: show the top 3, then also display the following ones with their rank, so that others can situate themselves and feel encouraged.
The idea was good. It has been added. And today, Lionel is at the top of the energy podium.
This is exactly how I want to see FreeWillWave grow: someone notices something, proposes an improvement, and the tool becomes better for everyone.
What has been improved since the last chronicle
In recent days, I have not only looked at the numbers. I have continued to improve FreeWillWave.
The homepage now loads much faster on mobile. After a day with only 4 registrations, I wondered if something was broken. Nothing was broken. It was simply the normal ebb after the launch. But upon checking, I saw that the page was too heavy on mobile. This has been corrected.
The personal map « Free Human #N » has also been redesigned. It now displays the username, the registration date, and the phrase:
« I chose freedom. »
It is more accurate. Simpler. Timeless. The old map said things that could become false or dated. This one returns to the heart of the project: a human making a choice.
A QR code is also now always visible in the sharing kit. This may seem small, but it is important. FreeWillWave should not only live in links sent online. We should be able to show it to someone face to face, hand them our phone, and say: « Scan this. »
The link « see the page that my guests discover » has been fixed. Previously, it redirected to its own page « Me ». Now, everyone can really preview the page that an invited person arrives on.
The first Sunday letter also went out on July 5th. Each member now receives a summary of the week in their language, with a personal word before the numbers. I want FreeWillWave to remain a human story, not just a dashboard.
The Wave map finally becomes clearer
The page of The Wave has also been improved.
When someone arrives or sends energy, their country now lights up in the right place. The case of Catherine Soavi, Free Human #167, triggered a correction: she came from France, but her signal appeared almost in Africa. Such details matter. If the Wave claims to show where humans come from, it must show it correctly.
The energy sent by others is now also much more visible. Before, we mainly saw our own sending. Now, when another person sends energy, a clear signal shows where it is coming from.
Finally, the six large blocks of numbers on the page of The Wave are now easier to understand as a menu. Here too, it seems like a small thing, but it is essential. A living interface must be understood without explanation.
Finding ways to promote the Wave
I am also working on another project: finding a way to bring in funding to allow for much broader promotion of FreeWillWave.
I won't say more for now. It is not ready. But it is progressing, and I think I will be able to talk about it in the coming days.
The idea is simple: for the Wave to grow, more people need to see it. And for more people to see it, we need to find a smart way to finance this visibility.
So I continue to build the tool, correct what needs to be corrected, listen to feedback, and look for ways to give FreeWillWave the means to reach many more humans.
The Wave is written live
We are still only at the beginning.
172 Free Humans is not the whole world. But it is already something.
These are names. Countries. Gestures. Signals. Corrections. Ideas proposed by members. Pages becoming clearer. Humans arriving, sometimes seriously, sometimes playfully, but leaving a trace in this first Wave.
And that is what I find encouraging.
FreeWillWave is not a fixed project. It is a living tool.
If you are already registered, you can help very simply: share your link, show your QR code, send energy, invite someone, or talk about the Wave around you.
Every gesture counts.
The Wave has begun.
