Happy July 4th in the United States — a quiet day, but an important piece has just been laid

Happy July 4th in the United States — a quiet day, but an important piece has just been laid

I want to start by wishing a very happy July 4th to all the residents of the United States.

July 4th is a strong symbol: freedom, independence, the American dream, this idea that a human being can decide their life, their direction, what they want to build. And of course, for FreeWillWave, this date resonates in a particular way.

Today, the Wave did not explode. It moved forward gently.

We are now 148 Free Humans. The last account had 141, so 7 humans more since yesterday. July 4th itself saw the arrival of 6 new people: Granville Eric Miller, Glenn Thomas, Marie, Duncan Smith, Sofya and Eugene, from New Zealand, the last arrival of the day.

Christian, Free Human #142, also arrived just before midnight on July 3rd, after the closure of the previous account.

It is a quiet day, yes. But that is also quite normal: it’s the weekend, it’s the World Cup, and in the United States many people are busy with other things than looking at a website. And precisely, this calm allowed me to work on something that was really missing.

The missing piece: the presentation video

Today, I spent time creating what I consider to be a cornerstone of the site: the short presentation video of FreeWillWave.

It is now available on the homepage and on the Wave page, with a voice-over, and especially with versions in 15 languages.

I hope the translations are good, or at least accurate enough for everyone to understand the intention behind the project: FreeWillWave is not just a site with numbers. It is a global social experience. An attempt to make visible, human by human, the choice to remain free and to respect that same freedom in others.

It needed to be a simple video. A short video. Something that could be quickly launched to understand the general meaning without having to read the entire page. It was missing. Now, it exists.

And frankly, I am glad to finally have a version that suits me.

Today's numbers

The map remains at 11 countries. No new territory has been added today.

The current ranking:

Canada 42 · United Kingdom 34 · United States 22 · France 17 · New Zealand 11 · Australia 8 · Belgium 3 · United Arab Emirates 1 · Tanzania 1 · Niger 1 · Senegal 1.

A notable fact: the United States remains at 22 Free Humans on the very day of their national holiday. It’s not a big deal. It’s even almost funny. The Wave does not force anything. It moves forward when humans arrive.

On the energy side, we are at 481 gestures sent since the opening, which is +23 since yesterday, of which 18 in the last 24 hours. These gestures come from 33 different people. About a third of the base continues to send energy to the Wave.

The energy podium, excluding Free Human #1, today is:

Alistair A is the one who previously displayed under the name « Southern Pacific Freedom ». He has returned to the top of the podium after Serge. Lionel, on the other hand, made a very nice leap, from 31 to 42 energies.

As always, the podiums are not there to create hard competition. They serve to make visible what is given: energy, time, support, presence.

What has also been improved

The Me page is now preparing for the moment when the chain will join a member. Starting August 1st, when it’s your turn, you will clearly see where you stand: session 1 of 2, countdown, then the calm state that says you have done your part.

The messaging has also been fixed on mobile. Lionel had pointed out that the last messages were not clearly visible, nor was the scroll bar. It’s this kind of feedback that really helps make the site better.

And the future Sunday letter will start with a personal word, before the numbers. I don’t want FreeWillWave to become just a dashboard. The numbers matter, but the human story matters even more.

The Wave continues

Today, then, the Wave was calm.

But sometimes, quiet days serve to build foundations. And today, an important foundation was laid: the video that explains why all this exists.

Thank you to those who are already here, who send energy, who share, who invite, who read, who follow the adventure.

And if you are reading this article, you can really help: share the Wave with someone who might understand. One single person can make a difference. That’s even the whole point.
