196 Free Humans: the site is ready, now we need to find the others
These past few days, even though I was quite tired, I still worked enormously on FreeWillWave.
I know my previous story already talked about a major overhaul of the site. So I might feel like I'm repeating myself. Yet this time, something has really changed: I think I've finally arrived at a version that clearly explains what I'm trying to create.
I had tried a clear version of the site. It was brighter, more classic, probably easier to relate to what you usually see on the Internet. But I didn't fully identify with it.
I finally deleted that version to keep only the dark theme. The deep night blue, the lights, the images, and the map movements now give the project a true identity. It's much more beautiful, but above all much more consistent with what FreeWillWave should make you feel: something calm, alive, and positive that is being born.
I didn't abandon the work done on the clear version. I kept all the improvements that helped explain the project better.
The home page, the invitation page, the personal space, the help, the press, and the Story have been reworked. Profiles are more visible. Energy animations have been improved. A person can now ask questions directly from the help page. The press kit tells the story of the project as it exists today better.
The message has become much simpler.
We are creating a group of humans who freely choose for themselves and respect that same right in others. We count ourselves to become visible, find each other, and one day be able to create more things together.
Growth has stopped
But I also have to tell what isn't working.
We are still 196 Free Humans in 13 countries. No one new has joined us for several days.
X sends me almost no one anymore. Google sends me no one anymore either. The communication possibilities I currently have are therefore very limited.
And the main problem remains the same: so far, no invitation between members has really started to grow the Wave.
This experiment cannot work if it remains known only to those who are already there. Its meaning appears when humans pass it on, when each person helps the people they would like to have by their side to find us.
I can build the tool, improve the texts, create the images, and continue to tell the adventure. But I cannot create a global gathering alone.
The map continues to breathe nonetheless
Even though the number of Free Humans hasn't increased, several people continue to send energy.
Since the last story, 29 energies have been sent by four members. In total, 681 energy gestures have now been made by 44 different people.
This week, Samantha Read, Free Human #87, in the United Kingdom, was the most active with 14 energies. She is followed by Lionel, Free Human #2, in Belgium, and Alistair A, Free Human #40, in New Zealand.
Historically, Alistair remains the one who has sent the most energy, ahead of Samantha and Lionel.
This ranking is not a competition. It's a way to thank the people who continue to keep the map alive while registrations are at a standstill.
It's time to step out of the site
Today I am sufficiently proud of the result to start contacting the press directly.
I will probably set up, in the coming days, regular communication to newspapers, blogs, YouTube channels, podcasts, radio stations, and anyone who might understand this experiment and want to tell about it.
I hope that someone will eventually see what I'm trying to do and decide to share it.
I am also thinking of going directly to meet people near my home. Behind a screen, it's easy to forget that FreeWillWave is first and foremost about real people.
To surround myself with positive, free humans who respect the freedom of others, the best way might simply be to go find them where they live.
A collaboration between humans and artificial intelligences
The majority of the technical development is done with Claude Code. But for writing, finding the right words, creating mockups and images, ChatGPT has clearly taken an essential place.
I work alone on the project, but I no longer build exactly alone.
These tools help me turn a reflection started nearly fifteen years ago into something visible, understandable, and, I hope, useful.
The site is now ready to welcome the others.
The question is no longer just how to improve it further.
The question is now very simple:
How are we going to help the humans who might recognize themselves in this idea to find us?
