The day the Wave learned to spread farther

Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 18:15 UTC, the Wave already no longer resembles the one I described Tuesday evening in the story of two lit-up countries and the first human chain.

In two days, 75 new presences took their place. We went from 377 to 452 Free Humans in 35 countries. August 6 even became the biggest day of arrivals since opening: 58 Free Humans in a single UTC day, while the previous record was 26 on July 20.

But the most important fact is not just the speed. It's the method. Tuesday, we counted 5 member-to-member invitations since opening. Today, we count 55. In two days, 50 invitations were added, and the Wave began to travel from human to human with a new strength.

Kuwait enters history differently

A new country appeared on the Wave map: Kuwait.

On August 5 at 10:35 UTC, #385 Irewumi Ridwan (Kuwait) took his place. That single action alone would have been enough to mark the period, because a country that appears for the first time changes the map. Before that moment, Kuwait was not yet visible in the history of FreeWillWave. Since that moment, it is.

But this arrival carries something completely new. Kuwait is the first country on the map opened by a member's invitation, not by a link coming directly from me. #385 Irewumi Ridwan (Kuwait) arrived because #379 Ilemele Abu (Nigeria) invited him.

It's a very simple step to understand, and very powerful to remember. Until now, all countries had been opened by a person arriving directly. This time, a country lit up because a Free Human showed the door to someone else.

#379 Ilemele Abu (Nigeria) took his place on August 5 at 01:15 UTC. In less than two days, he sent 28 energies and he invited the person who opened Kuwait. I don't need to add more: the facts already tell a lot.

Fifty invitations in two days

In the July 31 story on the first three invitations, the event was still fragile. Three humans had begun to transmit FreeWillWave from within. Then, Tuesday, the first three-human chain had appeared in Zambia.

This time, the change in scale is clear. We went from 5 member-to-member invitations since opening to 55. And above all, several humans each invited several people, in a very short time.

#388 Abdulmumin Yahaya (Nigeria) took his place on August 5 at 17:14 UTC. The next morning, at 10:13 UTC, #413 YAHUZA IDRIS (Nigeria) took his, invited by #388 Abdulmumin Yahaya (Nigeria). In the following eight hours, #413 YAHUZA IDRIS (Nigeria) invited 20 people.

#418 Ibrahim Khalil Harith (Nigeria), arrived on August 6 at 10:30 UTC, also invited by #388 Abdulmumin Yahaya (Nigeria), invited 6 people. Again, I'm not going to invent the reasons, personal connections, or intentions. What we know is enough: in two days, several Free Humans not only took their place. They allowed others to find theirs.

The chain reaches four generations

Until Tuesday, the longest chain had three humans. That was already a first. Now, the Wave has reached a fourth generation.

One branch starts with #388 Abdulmumin Yahaya (Nigeria), goes through #413 YAHUZA IDRIS (Nigeria), then through #432 Thomas Ezekiel (Nigeria), before arriving at #436 Umar Haruna (Nigeria), #437 Auwal Muhd (Nigeria) and #444 Hassan Yohanna (Nigeria).

Another also goes through #428 Hillary Ejike (Nigeria), then joins #438 S man ktg Tv (Nigeria). In total, on August 6 at 18:15 UTC, 396 humans arrived directly, 22 are at the second generation, 29 at the third, and 4 at the fourth.

There are also invitations that cross borders. #419 Umar Alhaji Usman (ABBA) (Netherlands), arrived on August 6 at 10:33 UTC, was invited by #413 YAHUZA IDRIS (Nigeria). The Netherlands now has two Free Humans. The same day, #447 Abba Koura Bako (Niger) took his place, also invited by #413 YAHUZA IDRIS (Nigeria), and Niger went to two Free Humans.

Other actions reinforced already-existing presences: #446 Kathia (Belgium) arrived through the invitation of #2 Lionel (Belgium), and #383 Ivan (Papua New Guinea) through that of #264 Wendy Anthon (Papua New Guinea). These are small lines on a human map, but they change the texture of the whole.

Nigeria becomes the great engine of these two days

Nigeria had 60 Free Humans at the start of the window. It now has 119. In two days, it became the most represented country in FreeWillWave, ahead of Canada with 49, the United States with 46, the United Kingdom with 41, France with 36, Kenya with 27, Uganda with 19 and India with 18.

It's not just a national progression. It is above all the place where invitations gained a new scale during this period. Several of the most visible chains, relays, and arrivals come from there.

The energies also continued. In this window, 187 energies were sent by 27 different people. Since opening, the cumulative total reaches 1,707 energies sent by 112 people.

Thank you to those who make the Wave beat with these visible actions. They don't tell everything, but they show that something is happening now, not just in a promise or a presentation page.

Explaining becomes easier to share

During these two days, I also created a new page: Listen — The project. I explain there in my own voice what FreeWillWave is and why I'm building it. The full text is written alongside in the site's fifteen languages, divided into chapters, with the time next to the playback bar.

The need was very concrete. Until now, someone who wanted to make FreeWillWave known often had to explain it themselves, in their own words, each time. That's a real barrier to sharing. Now, a person can show the page and let me explain.

I can't claim that this new explanation caused the 50 invitations of these two days. I hope so, of course, because that's exactly the role I wanted to give it: to make FreeWillWave easier to understand, therefore simpler to transmit. What I can say with certainty is that this page now exists, and it's also carried by the invitation pages that members share.

The button that leads to this explanation has changed everywhere it mattered: on the home page, on the Wave map, on the plan page, on the press page, and on the invitation pages. I chose to put my face there with the words "The project". A face says who is speaking; the words say what opens.

I also redid the press kit in the fifteen languages, so that it finally talks about what FreeWillWave actually broadcasts: the live streams, the Sunday podcast, the newsletter, the karaoke, the album The Wave, and the places where you can see the project living rather than just describing it.

Details that help to see better

On The Story, Growth tab, you can now choose the duration you're looking at: the day, the week, the month, the year, or everything since opening. A curve doesn't tell the same thing depending on the chosen window. With a day like August 6, this detail becomes even more useful.

On the Wave map, the four podiums now open on the total since opening. A daily podium, in the middle of the night, can be almost empty; starting with the global view gives a fairer reading.

The map now also shows day and night over the world, in real time. And in the messaging, the local time of the person you're writing to follows the conversation. It's the follow-up to a remark by #40 Alistair A (New Zealand): writing to the other side of the world without knowing if it's three in the morning for the other person is not the same as writing at the right moment.

The welcome emails now indicate where to see the Wave: the Sunday podcast and the live stream. The Story's publication feed is also easier to find for those who follow blogs with their own reader. And several small corrections coming from real usage have been made, because a living project is also discovered through the places where someone stumbles.

What these two days open up

These two days tell a tipping point. We saw a record day, a new country, 75 arrivals, 187 energies, and above all 50 invitations between members. We saw Kuwait become the first country opened by the invitation of a Free Human. We saw the human chain reach a fourth generation.

There was no new support in this window, so I'm not turning it into an event. What moved here comes from the presences, the invitations, the energies, and the work to make the explanation easier to transmit.

The rest isn't written, but it just became more readable. FreeWillWave no longer moves forward only because I show the door. Humans are starting to show it to other humans, sometimes in the same country, sometimes across a border, sometimes up to a fourth generation. That's exactly the kind of trace The Story must keep: the moment when the Wave learns to travel by itself, freely, humanly.
