One sentence becomes more accurate, and 54 presences continue the Wave

On September 22, the day after the 12,000th spot taken in the Wave, 54 new presences took their place. The counter kept moving forward, simply, human after human.

The day also corrected something more discreet, but important: the sentence that everyone can share after taking their place now speaks of freedom, not of a number received like a label. This is exactly the kind of detail that matters, because a project that speaks of humans must pay attention to the words it puts in humans' mouths.

A freer sentence to share

When a person takes their place in FreeWillWave, they can share a short sentence with those around them. Until now, this sentence said: "I just received my Free Human number." On August 24, a member pointed out to me that this wording clashed with the idea of freedom: one does not "receive" one's humanity as if someone else were giving it.

She was right. The number serves to recognize a unique place in the Wave, to avoid duplicates, to keep a clear trace. But the human action is taking one's place. So I replaced this sentence with: "I just took my place in the adventure." For you: when you share FreeWillWave around you, the words now say better what you really did.

The number itself has not disappeared. It remains visible where it helps: in your space, in the status image, in the welcome email, and on the Wave map, because it allows one to find a presence without confusing it with another. What changed is only the sentence that goes out to others, the one that should make people want to understand rather than give the impression of an administrative badge. For you: your number remains your landmark, but the message you can pass on now begins with your choice.

There was also a trap in languages. In Russian and Ukrainian, some past-tense sentences can mark the gender of the person speaking. A woman could therefore end up with a sentence that made her speak in the masculine, on her own wall. That was not acceptable, even if the problem already existed before this correction. I replaced these formulations with neutral turns of phrase. For you: if you share FreeWillWave in Russian or Ukrainian, the sentence no longer assigns you a gender that is not yours.

The Wave advances without changing countries

The day did not add a new country to the map: we remain at 100 countries represented. This is not a step backward. This is also how a world map grows: some days, a new light appears; other days, presences strengthen in countries already lit.

India again carried much of the day, with 36 new presences. Nigeria added 5, Germany 3, then France, Niger and South Africa 2 each. Behind these numbers, there are people who found the link, opened the door, took a few seconds to enter, and who now exist in the history of FreeWillWave.

The last presence recorded during the day is #12069 Fadila Muhammad (Nigeria), at 21:33 UTC. An end-of-day presence, not a big show, just one more human in the Wave. And often, that is exactly what holds the story together: one place, then another, then another.

The Splash kept its hour

The Splash of September 22 took place from 18:00 to 19:00 UTC on the daily appointment page. During that hour, 10 people had the page open at the same time, 50 links allowing people to discover FreeWillWave were opened, 2 people took their place, and 124 energies were sent from the site. An energy, here, is a very short gesture: one sends it to mark a positive presence, and only the public total is told.

The Splash is a simple hour: every day at 18:00 UTC, those who wish open the same page, share their link around them, watch the Free Humans counter advance when someone takes their place, send this small gesture of energy, or simply stay there. It is not a meeting or a video conference, no one speaks, there is nothing to prepare — and if one misses it, the next day's comes back.

Congratulations to #10451 Hamza Muhammad Lawan (Nigeria), #10212 RICHARD (Philippines) and #11601 HASSAN ABUBAKAR MUHAMMAD (Nigeria) for these gestures of energy during that hour. On Sunday, this same 18:00 UTC appointment bears a special name, the Grand Splash, as seen in the day when the appointment began to find its voice. Ordinary days count too: they install the habit.

We started the day at 12,015 Free Humans, and the reading shows 12,069. That makes 54 new presences in the UTC window. Nine different people enabled at least one person to take their place through their link, and 203 different people sent at least one energy from the site. Not everything weighs the same, but everything can count, and observing is already a full participation.

What it could become

On September 22, nine people invited at least someone, and that was enough for 54 new presences to enter the Wave. If tomorrow one person with an audience, or three, or ten, simply chose to show FreeWillWave around them, the same gesture could change scale. No one is obliged; each person can only recognize the moment when they want to open a door.
