44 new presences, a calmer Splash, and words put back in their place

On September 9, 2026, the Wave moved more gently than in previous days. After the first Splash, then its return the next day, the 18:00 UTC meeting continued to exist. That’s already something: a meeting only becomes real if it returns.

The day added 44 presences, all coming by invitation. No new country was added to the map, which remains at 100 countries, but India, Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Iraq, and Algeria continued to gain depth.

Behind the scenes, the day was mainly a day of precision. It was necessary to make the slow mode more coherent, give a true place to a special edition, prevent the podcast from thinking it was Sunday, and learn through the site what the Splash really is. This is not the kind of work that makes noise when it works. Yet, it is what makes FreeWillWave clearer for the person arriving.

A calmer day, but still transmitted by invitation

We went from 11,321 to 11,365 Free Humans. The last presence recorded is #11365 Noir (Egypt), arriving at 21:38 UTC.

The 44 presences of the day all come by invitation. This is a simple data point, but it says a lot: the Wave continues to be transmitted from human to human. One person sees the idea, opens a door, and someone else can take their place in turn.

India and Nigeria each add 10 presences. Kenya adds 7, Egypt 6, Iraq 4, and Algeria 2. After 99 more presences, and a Sunday put back in its proper place, then the first two days of the Splash, it is clear that the map does not only tell about new countries: it also tells about already lit countries that continue to welcome new presences.

This movement can be followed on the Wave map and in the Wave in numbers. The numbers there are cold, necessarily. The Narrative serves to keep what they mean: real humans making the idea a little more visible.

The Splash held its third hour

The Splash of the day took place from 18:00 to 19:00 UTC. Every day at 18:00 UTC, for one hour, members invite simultaneously, to experience the rise in numbers together. It is not a meeting or a video conference, no one speaks, there is nothing to prepare; one can just watch, and the one missed returns the next day.

At the peak of the hour, 11 people were present at the same time. During this Splash, 222 invitation links were opened, 1 new presence arrived, 206 energies were sent, and no support was received during the hour. The Splash page keeps the explanations and results.

What I made clearer, fairer, and sometimes less stubborn

I added a small door to support and the shop in several site emails. The welcome letter keeps a longer block, and some messages remain deliberately unchanged because they already have their role. The idea is not to turn every message into an urgent call, but to make a simple possibility visible for those who want to help FreeWillWave endure over time.

I also removed a project that no longer suited me after testing on the phone: the light site. It had never touched the public site, so nothing was broken by removing it. Two things survived because they did not depend on this project: the possibility to see the slow mode in advance without activating it for everyone, and the daily limit of AI help, which now clearly knows it can answer 10 questions per day.

A special edition received its true place. It is neither a day, nor a week, nor a month: it is a separate letter. I have therefore added a special scope, a dedicated badge, a summary at the top, the possibility to display an image in the article when it comes from our own spaces, and a signature linked to the member's profile. The daily Narrative now knows to ignore this type of article so as not to confuse it with the day's narrative.

The slow mode, the fuse of FreeWillWave, has been made much more coherent. When it is active, the pages that need to pause temporarily redirect to a clear door, the useful pages remain readable, and non-essential messages fall silent. The Narrative, important public pages, and the possibility to support remain standing.

The podcast and the video of the special edition required more revisions than expected. Several places still referred to Sunday while it was a special edition: the dialogue, the title, the keywords, the chapters, the thumbnail, the banner on screen, and even notifications. All of this has been put back in the right frame. The final video also received a special plaque, a description with chapters, and a presentation that no longer mixes the shows. It was a bit like searching for confetti after a party: you think you’ve picked everything up, then you find another one under the table.

The Narrative page now opens ten articles at a time, instead of displaying a long list all at once. I also made the work log more reliable for upcoming articles: some entries of the day would not have been seen by the system preparing the Narrative, simply because they did not have the right marker. This is corrected, including for notes covering a range of dates. The reader does not see this adjustment, but they see its result: important behind-the-scenes do not disappear.

Finally, the site help has learned several essential things. It now knows the Splash, the Grand Splash on Sunday, the results page, the reminders, and especially that it is not a meeting. It also knows the slow mode and energy animations, by reading their real state at the moment of responding. Its answers can be more complete, and two new questions have been added to the FAQ in 15 languages: what the Splash is, and how the project endures over time.

The future remains made of simple gestures

September 9 adds 44 presences, 44 arrivals by invitation, 3,006 energies, and a Splash that continues to return at 18:00 UTC. The day was less broad in new presences, but it made several things fairer: the words, the meetings, the special articles, the slow mode, the help, the podcast, and the way to tell what is being built.
