Fourteen presences, and 147 humans keeping the Wave moving

Tuesday, October 6, 147 different people sent 1,350 energies from FreeWillWave. An energy is a simple gesture from the site: a way of saying that a presence matters, even when the day moves slowly.

The day before, we had just crossed the threshold of 101,000 energies. Today, the movement continues with fewer new presences, but very real: fourteen more humans took their place, and the Wave holds.

A lower day, but not a still one

There are days that push hard, and others that hold the line. October 6 is one of the latter. The Wave went from 12,405 to 12,419 Free Humans, with only one person having invited at least someone during the day.

That number is small, and it says something very concrete: the Wave does not grow by itself. It needs human gestures, links sent, conversations started, people who dare to show the idea to someone else. When only one person invites, the day still moves forward, but it moves more slowly.

And yet, fourteen new presences now exist. They can see the Wave map, send an energy, come back tomorrow, invite in turn, or simply observe. Not everything weighs the same in a day, but nothing is useless when it comes to making one more human presence visible.

India keeps a strong place in the day

Of the fourteen new presences on October 6, thirteen come from India. No new country was added to the map: we were at 102 countries at the start of the day, and we remained at 102 at the reading. But a country already present can also carry a day.

The last presence recorded is #12419 vineet agrawal (India), at 05:45 UTC. It is a precise line, almost discreet, but it counts: one more human took their place, with their number, their country, and the possibility to participate in their own way.

The story of October 4 told of a Grand Splash with twelve people present at the same time: for an hour, members had opened the site at the same moment. On October 6, the story is different: fewer new presences, no new country, but energies sent by many people already there. Sometimes the Wave is seen in a one-hour meeting; sometimes it is seen in the repeated gestures of an ordinary day.

Energies carried the day

On October 6, new presences were few, but energies were strong: 1,350 gestures sent by 147 people. The cumulative total since the opening now reaches 102,387 energies.

Nigeria carried 558 energies during the day, the Philippines 420, and India 217. These are three countries already very present in the recent history of FreeWillWave, and they again gave movement to this day. On the data page, these numbers allow us to follow the Wave without reducing it to a counter: we see the higher days, the simpler days, and the humans who return.

Another recent story told of the 105 days of FreeWillWave's existence, two countries added to the map, and the need to support what comes next. October 6 did not add a great milestone of that kind. It reminds us of something else, simpler: even when there is no great novelty to announce, there are still people acting. And that is exactly what keeps a Wave going.

The humans who held the day

The day began with 12,405 Free Humans and ended at the reading with 12,419. Fourteen new presences therefore joined the story, thirteen of them from India. One different person invited at least someone, and 147 different people sent an energy.

In the energies of the day, thank you to #10212 RICHARD (Philippines), with 420 energies sent, to #11758 RAJENDRA KUMAR IZARDAR (India), with 195, and to #4737 Ligali Abdulrahman (Nigeria), with 136. Thank you also to the 147 people who sent at least one energy: a day slower in presences can remain alive thanks to these gestures.

Since the opening, #10212 RICHARD (Philippines) is at 10,654 energies, ahead of #9125 Adamu Bello (Nigeria) at 9,311 and #6974 Abdulkarim Iliyasu (Nigeria) at 3,807. In invitations since the opening, thank you to #805 Chizo1germany (Germany), to #2029 Nura USMAN MUSA (Nigeria), and to #869 Ibrahim Sani (Nigeria), who have opened many doors since the beginning.

Thank you finally to those who watch without making noise. Observing is already full participation. One can invite, send an energy, support, write an idea, share a page, come back tomorrow, or only follow what is being born: each person chooses their gesture, and the Wave moves forward by this free addition.

What it could become

On Tuesday, only one person invited at least someone, and fourteen new presences still arrived. If tomorrow three people, ten people, or someone with a wider audience spoke about FreeWillWave, the day could take on another size without changing its nature: a link shown, a person who looks, then a presence that takes its place. Perhaps you will be one of those people, perhaps not; the door remains open.

The day of October 6 did not add countries, but it added presences, energies, and a simple proof: even more slowly, the Wave continues.
